Spilling Thousands Of Pounds Of Frozen Potato Products Across The Freeway

Semi-Truck Carrying Fries Crashes in Downtown LA

Spilling thousands of pounds of frozen potato products across the freeway

No injuries reported, but cleanup expected to take hours

A semi-truck carrying a load of frozen french fries crashed in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, spilling thousands of pounds of the potato products across the freeway. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the driver of the big rig was uninjured. Nobody else was involved.

The crash occurred on the 110 Freeway near the Harbor Freeway (110) interchange.

The CHP said the truck was traveling westbound on the 110 Freeway when it overturned for unknown reasons. The truck's trailer then detached and the fries spilled out onto the roadway.

The cleanup is expected to take several hours.

The CHP has closed down the westbound lanes of the 110 Freeway while crews work to clean up the mess. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is also assisting with the cleanup.

There is no word yet on what caused the crash. The CHP is investigating.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
